227 Bibles
Harvest Quest
Horsham today: 227 Bibles in 5 hours 15 mins
The team was David & Felicia, David (Paula's Friend) & Paula, Dan and a homeless guy ... yes, you guessed it ... called David!
It could only be described as a Holy Day in Horsham, because the LORD moved powerfully so many times.
David (the homeless guy) kindly wanted to help us by moving boxes and Bibles. He stayed with us most the day and did a great job. He also insisted on holding up our "Free Bibles" sign for hours.
Paula spoke to a lady whom Jesus loves. The lady whom Jesus loves lost a close family member about a year ago. Another family member was then killed unexpectedly. The lady whom Jesus loves said to Paula "why am I telling you this, I don't tell anyone". The lady said she feels sad and empty but puts on a happy face. Paula explained the joy and peace Jesus brings, even in the darkest moments of life, gave her a Bible and prayed for her. Please pray for the lady whom Jesus loves so deeply, that she will find the comfort and love of Christ.
David (Felicia's husband) spoke to H, a blonde lady. She had never read the Bible before and was delighted to receive one. David explained the layout of the Bible. H insisted on shaking David's hand.
Felicia said "there was a non-stop stream of people approaching us today, very few lulls". Many people who had never read the Bible before wanted to. In particular, a Bulgarian lady who went quickly from slightly inquisitive to "OK, I'm definitely checking this out for myself" as the Spirit fell on all of us as we shared about Jesus.
Felicia also spoke to S, a 14 year old girl. S asked Felicia many searching questions. She wanted to know whether Adam and Eve really existed. When Felicia confirmed they did, S said "I knew it!" S's friend's mocked her but S didn't care. She was as bold as a lion PROV 28:1. Felicia explained to S that she needed to give every area of her life to Jesus. Her school, her work, her future partner, everything! S said she wanted to. Felicia and S prayed and S received the LORD. Please pray for S that God will put other Christians alongside her.
A guy Sali 28 got saved a year ago. He 100% believes in Jesus but had lost his Bible. He also isn't going to church because of work. We explained the importance of fellowship 1 John 1:7. There were some local Christians nearby worshipping, similar to Sali's age. We called them over and introduced them to Sali. They were super friendly with Sali and swapped numbers with him. Sali took a Bible (of course). Sali was blown away, he knew it was God at work. He said "I never come to town" but today I did and wow!
A 24 year old had just spoken to the nearby Christians and came for a Bible. He wanted to go to church with them. We encouraged him to and shared the gospel. His face physically lit up as we spoke of forgiveness in Christ.
One moment blew me away. I was giving out a Bible and someone else came for one, so I wrapped up the conversation quicker than usual to help the next person. But whilst I was helping the next person someone else came along. And this kept happening. So I thought "where is everyone, why is noone else helping?" Then as I looked around, everyone on the team was ministering to someone, there was noone available. And people just kept coming for Bibles! A very holy moment for me, to see God moving in so many hearts! Reminded me of "they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink" Luke 5:7.
2 girls 16 asked for Bibles and shared how they were amazed that, when their class was given the opportunity to go or to stay to learn more about Christianity, about half the class voluntarily stayed. A South African lady started crying, so happy we had come to her town. A guy with dreadlocks said he had wanted a Bible for 3 months. And so many more stories I don't have time to share.
We ran out of Bibles and went to say bye to the nearby Christians. Hugs all round (like we had known them years) and the Spirit fell again. Holy, holy, holy is the LORD. Praise Jesus!!!
